What You Should Know About Acne Scars

People who suffered from acne knew how bad it was. Lesions that had not been healed will leave the marks behind and created acne scars. The size and type of acne scars depend on a number of genetic factors which are differently affected individuals. Some people, because their heritage and skin colour, are more likely to see scars formed on their skin. Your best bet is to make sure the lesions heal properly and should avoid squeezing or picking pimples.

Most people will have acne scars that are mild, but for some others will have more severe scars that are very unpleasant. Acne scars can be classified as follows:

  • A spot of skin with brown or pink colour indicated that a pimple had been there.
  • Ice pick scar - it is a small hole left behind by the lesion. Only inflamed lesions such as pustules, nodules or cysts can caused this kind of scar. Occasionally, squeezing open a blackhead acne could result in an inflamed lesion and a scar as well.
